Formerly an old fishing village, Llanes is a lively beach town on the Cantabrian coast. You’ll have several beaches to choose from including Toro, Las Muyeres and Puerto Chico, all within walking distance. Also just steps away are El Sablon and San Pedro’s walk overlooking impressive cliffs. Llanes also has a historic center worth a visit as well as shops, cafés and restaurants.
Within easy driving distance are other lively coastal towns and villages such as San Vicente de la Barquera, Comillas and Santander. Rising dramatically behind Llanes are the Picos de Europa, a majestic mountain range and national park with spectacular scenery, including a variety of rare and protected animals. Our comfortable accommodation, built in the regional style, is located in Llanes with views over rooftops and back to the Picos de Europa. It occupies the entire second level of a two-story house. The charming owner lives in the first floor accommodation below. The grounds include a grassy garden, which you are welcome to enjoy with a variety of fruit trees, plants and shrubs. Off the front of the house is a large balcony with outdoor dining furniture, the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the rooftop and mountain views. Inside, the property has been well renovated and decorated with casual contemporary furnishings and antique wood accents. Entry is up a flight of stairs in the back. All of the rooms are accessed from a corridor running the length of the house. To the left of the entry is a sitting room with brown leather sofas and easy chairs. Further down the corridor on the far end is the well equipped kitchen with marble counters, cream-colored cabinets, and all appliances. Doors from the sitting area and from the kitchen open to the terrace. On the other end of the house is an additional small sitting area with sofa and television. To the right of the entry are 4 bedrooms, one with double bed and three with twins. Two overlook the garden and the other two have rooftop views. All are decorated with pretty bedcovers, sheer curtains, side tables and ample wardrobe space. Also along the corridor are two full bathrooms, both with colorful tilework and with toilet facilities. A pleasing property in a wonderful seaside location. |
