Formerly an old fishing village, Llanes is a lively beach town on the Cantabrian coast. You’ll have several beaches to choose from including Toro, Las Muyeres and Puerto Chico, all within walking distance. Also just steps away are El Sablon and San Pedro’s walk overlooking impressive cliffs.
Llanes also has a historic center worth a visit as well as shops, cafés and restaurants. Within easy driving distance are other lively coastal towns and villages such as San Vicente de la Barquera, Comillas and Santander. Rising dramatically behind Llanes are the Picos de Europa, a majestic mountain range and national park with spectacular scenery, including a variety of rare and protected animals. This historic house was once the servants’ quarters to a 19th-century mansion in Llanes. It is built in the local style featuring a traditional wood facade, wood floors and large glass-paned galleries particularly appreciated on winter afternoons to enjoy the views at dusk. Set right in the village, it includes a covered terrace on the entry level, a cool spot for leisurely outdoor meals. Built on three levels, the property, has been well renovated and decorated with casual contemporary furnishings. It is light and bright thanks to high ceilings, the large paneled gallery windows and cream-colored walls. From the terrace, entry is up a flight of stairs to the sitting room with two upholstered loveseats grouped around a wood coffee table. Adjacent to the left is the kitchen with wood dining table and benches, blue and white tile accent wall and all basic appliances. There are a total of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are on the second floor: one with a queen bed and one with twins. On the third floor are a double bedroom and another bedroom with twins. Both have beamed ceilings. All are spacious and decorated with pretty bedcovers, sheer curtains, side tables and ample wardrobe space. The bathrooms are nicely tiled and include toilet facilities. One is on the second floor and another on the ground floor. A comfortable property in a wonderful seaside location. *Note: the property includes a smaller accommodation (for 4) with a separate entry on the far end of the house. The outdoor terrace on the ground level is shared. |
